Pecans are the fruit of the pecan tree (Carya illinoinensis), a tree related to the walnut native to America that can reach 60 meters high. They were part of the traditional Native American diet.

The pecan tree can reach up to 40 meters in height and has large, long leaves (35 to 55 cm). A fleshy green husk shelters its fruit. Camouflaged in a smooth, brown shell, the two kernels constituting the pecan nut are revealed. An

oval fruit with a fragile shell, the pecan nut is delicate and refined: this fruit with a particularly mild flavor, enhanced with a slight sweet note, will delight the most discerning palates.

These benefits could possibly be attributable to the unsaturated fats (good fats) they contain, as well as their fiber and arginine content, an amino acid potentially beneficial for cardiovascular health.
