Celtic sea salt is a sea salt extracted from the Celtic Sea, an area in the Atlantic Ocean bordering Western Europe. It is considered a high-quality, unrefined salt that retains its natural mineral content and is free of additives and anti-caking agents.
The salt is produced by evaporating seawater, usually with the help of the sun and wind, to obtain salt crystals. This traditional method involves minimal processing of the salt, which preserves its unique taste and traces of minerals.
