Takuna is an extract produced from the bark of Cecropia strigosa, a tree that is found throughout South America. An Acute Oral toxicity study was conducted by the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador.  The general conclusion was that Takuna did not produce toxic effects when used in accordance to the guidelines described in OECD TG 423, thus the product is considered practically innocuous for humans when administered in the acute form.
